Glacios™ Cryo-TEM
The new Thermo Scientific™ Glacios™ Cryo Transmission Electron Microscope features 200 kV XFEG optics, the same Autoloader (cryogenic sample manipulation robot) as used on the Krios G3i Cryo-TEM. The designed-in connectivity ensures a robust and contamination-free pathway throughout the entire workflow, from sample preparation and optimization to image acquisition and data processing. The Glacios Cryo-TEM can used in a range of applications including:
- Single particle analysis (SPA) workflow for pre-screening of sample quality before transferring to the Krios Cryo-TEM for ultimate-resolution SPA data acquisition.
- Dual-axis cellular tomography.
- Cryo-electron microscopy.
Features included with the Glacios Cryo-TEM
- Thermo Scientific™ Falcon 3 Direct Electron Detector which allows it to be a complete standalone SPA data acquisition tool for your needs.
- Autoloader™ sample loader. The Thermo Scientific™ Autoloader allows for automatic loading of up to 12 samples.
- The flexibility of operating the Glacios Cryo-TEM in the range of 80-200 kV allows for optimizing high tension to the requirements of the material under examination—ranging from vitrified suspensions to unstained cryo sections.
- EPU–Automated Single Particles Acquisition Software. EPU is a reliable, easy-to-use application that collects from tens of thousands up to millions of molecular views of a biological object in a quasi-automated fashion. Typically, it takes less than one hour to set up an EPU session that can run for days. It’s possible to collect more than one million particles in a four-day session.
