LM Sample preparation
Access to pathology lab
Histology services including conventional histology, immunohistochemistry and morphometric analysis can be provided by Histolab for a fee.
The services offered include:
- Conventional histology
- Immunohistochemistry
- Morphometric analysis
Histolab is located at the Department of Biomedical Sciences and run by Associate Professors Jens Christian Brings Jacobsen & Steen Seier Poulsen and Biomedical Laboratory Technologists Heidi Paulsen & Bente Stærgaard.
LM prep equipment
CFIM offers access to a cell culture facility and additional equipment, useful for sample preparation.
Vibrating microtome that uses a high-frequency oscillating cutting blade, combined with a slight compression that leads to consistent tissue sections (in fixed or acute slices).
The vibrating head is particularly designed to eliminate vibrations in the z-axis, reducing damage to surface cells on live tissue samples and further reducing chatter marks on thin sections for improved imaging results.
Ideal for relatively thick sections of tissue (30-1000 µm).
