FCS implementation on Zeiss LSM 780

The Fluorescence Correlation Spectroscopy (FCS) technique allows the calculation of transit times of fluorophores passing through an excitation laser beam.

In this technique, the confocal does not scan, since it performs single point recordings, collecting fluorescence signals from the molecules contained in the confocal volume defined by the objective and the pinhole.

This technique is ideal to evaluate membrane-bound or freely diffusing fluorescently-labelled protein dynamics at low concentrations.

Our LSM 780 is ideal for this application, which has been tested with excellent results using Alexa 555 dye.

Please contact Pablo (pablo.varas@sund.ku.dk) if you may have an experiment that could benefit from FCS.
