Elyra super-resolution microscope has been renewed

Our Elyra super-resolution microscope has been renewed and revamped! The system has been tested after re-commissioning and optimal performance was achieved.

SIM capabilities are the same as in the past with the exception of the incorporation of new, more powerful lasers. This new laser set is also suitable for PALM imaging. PALM capabilities have been extended, so you can also perform 3D PALM, optimally achieving 20 nm of lateral resolution and 50 nm of axial resolution.
3D PALM image reconstruction is based on a double phase ramp located at the pupil plane of the back aperture of the objective. This special lens distorts the PSF depending on the molecule's Z-positioning. Thorough calibration yields superb resolution in the Z axis.
